Day 1

Arrival

Upon arrival in Cape Town clear customs and immigration and proceed to the main arrivals hall. You will be met by your driver for your private transfer to the hotel. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in. Spend the balance of the day at leisure.

Day 2

Private Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour

Breakfast at the hotel.

You will be collected at your hotel by your driver-guide for a Private Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour.

  • Travel at a pace that allows you to explore the beauty of the Cape Peninsula.
  • Depart for the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve along one of South Africa’s most scenic routes, passing Hout Bay.
  • Enjoy a cruise to Seal Island, to view seals and sea birds at Duiker Island (weather permitting).
  • During summer, several thousand Cape Fur Seals – along with the rare Black Cormorant – lollop leisurely among the kelp beds.
  • Travel along Chapman’s Peak Drive (conditions permitting).
  • Continue to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. 
  • The scenery en route to Cape Point, at the South Western tip of the reserve, is particularly lovely in spring when wildflowers carpet the landscape. 
  • The new lighthouse – the most powerful in the world – beams an electric light of 19 million candle power across the ocean. 
  • Ascend to the top of by The Flying Dutchman funicular.
  • Visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
  • Then drive through the historic naval base town of Simon’s Town.
  • End the day with a stroll through Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (time permitting / optional cost). The Treetop Canopy Walkway gives visitors the opportunity to experience the forest from high above the ground. The galvanised steel structure meanders through trees and branches, with sections that crown above the forest.

Return to your hotel and spend the balance of the day at leisure.

Day 3

Private Cape Town City Tour

You will be met at your hotel by your driver-guide for a Private Cape Town City Tour.

  • Ascend Table Mountain for unforgettable sweeping views (weather permitting).
  • Return to the city and pass through the Malay Quarter.
  • Drive past the Castle of Good Hope, Houses of Parliament and the Company Gardens.
  • Travel to Sea Point and Camp’s Bay for scenic ocean vistas.  
  • Visit the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront
  • Shopping at Canal Walk shopping centre.

Spend the balance of the day at leisure.

Day 4

Private Morning Winelands Tour

Breakfast at the hotel.

Your driver-guide will collect you at your hotel for a Private morning winelands tour.

  • A fine way to spend an afternoon in the Cape is to visit the Winelands.
  • Travel to culturally and historically significant Stellenbosch.
  • Walk through the town to explore wonderful Cape Dutch architecture.
  • Visit a wine estate for a tasting and opportunity to purchase local wines.

Enjoy an Eagle Encounter experience. Through the interactive programs offered to guests, awareness is spread to help conserve these birds for future generations.

Proceed to the coastal town of Hermanus.

  • Hermanus is a popular resort town that has gained universal recognition, as the world’s best land-based whale watching destination.
  • Hermanus has been a sought-after holiday destination since the early 1800’s when it was discovered by an itinerant teacher and shepherd, Hermanus Pieterse.
  • This, he decided, was an ideal place to set up camp, and news of its idyllic setting and legendary champagne-air soon spread: the region was set to become the “Riviera of the South”.
  • A mere 140km from the Cape Metropole, Hermanus owes its success to its scenic beauty, mild climate and range of cultural and outdoor attractions.
  • Note: The whale-watching season is from June to November only.

Day 5

Private Garden Route Tour

You will be met by your driver-guide for a private Garden Route tour. Highlights include: Transfer to Knysna (4-5 hours by road). Stop in George for strawberry picking.

Explore the quaint town of Knysna known for its art & craft shops. “The place of the people, beauty and mystery.” This ever-popular charming town of legend, history, arts and crafts catering to visitor’s every need or fancy. The town is built on the banks of the Knysna Lagoon, a National Lake Area that falls under the protection of South African National Parks, is a home to more than 200 species of fish – including the rare Knysna seahorse – and is a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

Embark on a ferry trip aboard the pleasure boat, the John Benn (weather permitting). 

  • The John Benn is a double-decker floating restaurant offering daily Lagoon cruises to the Knysna Heads.
  • A memorable family activity on Knysna Lagoon.
  • Cruise to the Knysna Heads, on a boat steeped in history, named after a legendary pilot of a bygone era. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in.

Day 6

Private Full Day Oudtshoorn Tour.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.

Your driver-guide will collect you at your hotel for a Private Full Day Oudtshoorn Tour.

  • Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world.  Nowhere else are ostriches found in such great number and nowhere else do they produce feathers of such fine quality – but the world’s biggest bird is just one attraction in an area of enormous contrasts. 
  • Visit the Cango Caves, internationally renowned as one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Their fascinating limestone formation occurs in a variety of ways. 
  • Continue on to the Ostrich Ranch and come face to face with the biggest bird in the world.
  • Finally, end your day at the Cango Wildlife Ranch.  Over 300 crocodiles, ranging from 50 cm to four meters in length, inhabit the ranch.

Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 7

Plettenberg Bay

Breakfast at the hotel. Meet with your driver-guide. Visit Radical Raptors in Plettenberg Bay.

  • Radical Raptors is a rehabilitation centre that rescue, rehabilitate & release birds of prey.
  • The show is seeks to raise public awareness and to promote the conservation of these beautiful birds within our environment.
  • Each show is approximately 45 minutes long, with 3 show times daily: 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Enjoy a 1 hour elephant feeding interaction at The Elephant Sanctuary in Plettenberg Bay.
  • A guide will introduce you to the elephants as you will learn more about their backgrounds, behaviors and characters.
  • You will have the opportunity to touch, feed and walk with the elephants. Enjoy a visit to the Tsitsikamma National Park.
  • The Tsitsikamma National Park is situated at the heart of the picturesque Garden Route. 
  • Tsitsikamma is a Khoisan word meaning, “place of much water".  
  • In 1964 when it was proclaimed, it became the first Marine National Park in Africa and today the Park incorporates 80 km (50 miles) of rocky coastline with spectacular sea and landscapes.
  • The Tsitsikamma’s spectacular scenery includes the Indian Ocean breakers, pounding rocky shores beneath 180 m high cliffs, ever-green forests and fynbos rolling down to the sea.

Breakfast at the hotel. You will be met by your driver-guide for your day trip to the Sun City resort. Deep in the heart of the bushveld, at the heart of an ancient volcano, lays sensational Sun City.

Departure

Breakfast at your hotel and check out.

Proceed to the hotel's shuttle bus for your seat in coach transfer to OR Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport for your onward flight home.
